The Quickest,
Cheapest, Most Effective Way To Upsell, Email
Before
we talk about email marketing, lets talk about SPAM. Spam is
sending business or promotional emails to people who have not
given you permission to send them emails. DON"T DO IT. Its
illegal and its annoying.
Personally, I think the spam laws are a bit funny, picking on
emails like that. Lets face it, cold calling, junk mail and
those annoying pesky people who accost you in the street to
shove their advertising paraphernalia under your nose are all
doing the same thing as spam emails and are allowed to get
away with it. But thats a different matter. Spam emails damage
your reputation anyway, so they are counterproductive and we
never condone it.
To send a promotional or business related email, the person
who you are sending it to must have previously given you
permission (either explicit or implied) to send them emails.
Generally speaking (no, this is not legal advice), if a client
has given you their email address, they have given you
permission to send them emails. Similarly, if you get email
enquiries, you have your permission. There are many and varied
ways to get people's email addresses and the permission to use
them, in a legal and open manner. So there really is no reason
to SPAM.
Give me a shout if you would like to discuss such methods of
gathering email addresses and, once you have them, I can set
up and show you how to create email marketing campaigns that
will:
- Increase
sales and brand awareness
- Improve your
relationship with your clients
- Save you time
and money
